The son of our good friends got married this weekend in Berkeley. We spent a wonderful weekend at the Berkeley marina relaxing and visiting with our friends Tim and Gayle and reconnecting with other friends that arrived for the festivities.

Don and I had a wonderful dinner after arriving at the hotel on Friday evening. The football team from Presbyterian College South Carolina, their parents, friends, and alumna where also staying at the hotel so it made for a very interesting evening! The next day we took a stroll around the marina with Tim and Gayle and enjoyed the spectacular view of the bay. Tim and Gayle were the most relaxed parents of the groom I have ever seen! The wedding was held at the Lawrence Hall of Science, Berkeley California high in the hills above the university. The exhibit at the museum was dinosaurs which made for some very interesting guests!

The view from the Lawrence Hall of Science was the most amazing view I have ever seen! These pictures just don't do it justice. From the wedding site, you could see the entire San Francisco bay south towards Oakland and north towards Marin and all the way past the Golden Gate Bridge out to the Pacific Ocean. In the evening as the lights starting blinking on over the city and the bridges the view changes from amazing to dramatic. We stood out on the patio admiring the view while listening to the music from the wedding watching the fireworks shooting over ATT park.

Our friends Kevin and Marybeth at the wedding. The centerpiece was a jar with "fireflies". An influence of the South where Matthew proposed to Shahla.

Congratulations to Matthew and Shahla.
